Known in the industry as “Skiplagging,” this involves booking a flight beyond your actual destination and getting off at the layover.
The Risk:
- Carry-on Only: You cannot check bags (they go to the final destination).
- One-Way Only: If you skip a leg, the airline usually cancels the rest of your itinerary.
- Airline Bans: Some airlines have started flagging frequent “hidden city” flyers.
FlyNRun Advice: This is an “Expert Level” hack. If you do it, never link your frequent flyer account and always fly with a backpack only.
